Lauren Chipman - Biography

As an instrumentalist who weaves through music genres, violist Lauren Chipman is as comfortable in classical settings as she is on a Hollywood soundstage. Lauren performs and records with a host of artists and has appeared on the Grammys, American Idol, The Voice and The Tonight Show as well as recording for movies such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Big Hero 6.

Lauren’s chamber music appearances include performing with Midori at Zipper Hall as part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Chamber Series, the Ysaye Quartet for the Maestro Foundation Chamber Music Series and at Carnegie Hall and Weill Recital Hall with the Favrile Quartet.

A graduate of the University of Southern California, Lauren received her Bachelors of Music in Viola Performance where she studied with renowned violist Donald McInnes.

With her home base now in Chicago, Lauren is CEO of Chipman Design Architecture, an international design firm with offices in Chicago, Manhattan, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
